the location of the hotel is great and beautiful, close enough to the nature, a working ostrich farm, and the restaurant. volmoed district is worth looking into.

The rooms are perfectly clean and huge and have perfect views of the mountains and the ostrich farm. This hotel offers marvellous and stunning location near to the mountains and the ostrich farm, the tourist hub of Oudtshoorn central and Ostrich farm.

Did not make prior booking for dinner and nothing could be arranged when we reached the guesthouse in the evening. Location is away from the city / restaurants so one needs to plan in advance. No ostriches - big dissapointment for the kids.

Good value for money stay in a stylish guesthouse about 5 minutes drive from Outdshoorn. Good buffet breakfast. The guest house is on an ostrich farm and you can pay to take a tour around the farm. We paid about £30 for a family of four for this, and it was excellent value - about 2 hours with a very knowledgeable guide called Koos, and the highlight was seeing the baby ostriches hatching and even holding 3 day old babies! Within about a half hour drive are the famous Cango Caves (well worth visiting) and Cango Wildlife Ranch (quite touristy, but useful for seeing lots of animals at close range).

Pool was on the small side, but perfectly adequate for a short stay.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay there. The place was clean and fresh and we were well looked after. Breakfast quality was excellent. Dinner there was also great. We will re visit Mooiplaas if we do the Garden Route again.

I especially enjoyed the peacefulness of being away from the busy tourist area. The breakfast provided a wide variety of options, including Ostrich eggs, and the staff was attentive and efficient. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel and its facilities was top-notch. I also appreciated the convenience of parking and the availability of transportation services.

The staff at Mooiplaas invented Hospitallity. Incredibly good service, lovely tranquil location (with ostrich on really nearby), pool with a view of the mountainrange, close to Cango Wildpark (white tigers, cheetas, lions and crocodiles) and the infamous Swartberg pass, a must visit (also possible to pass with common car). Well decorated rooms with eye for detail. Try the ostrich steak braai-ed served by the owner: it´s great.
